Christmas Stockings Embroidered and Personalized

"The stocking's were hung by the chimney with care..."
It's getting close to that time of year again. I've been making these Christmas stockings for many years now. The first one was for my son when he was very little (he's 25 now and still has his) and then over the years I made one for every one in the whole family. I used to do the embroidery by hand on cross stitch fabric but now I have a machine to help me out with that and the Lambskin fleece cuff looks a lot nicer.

iPhone, iPod, Blackberry Case

After my hubby and I bought our iPhones, I realized that we needed some sort of protective case for them so I made a padded case that fits the phone snugly . The outer fabric is 100% cotton and the inner lining is luxurious Lambskin Sherpa fleece. There is an extra layer of padded fleece interlining between the case and lining. I added an outer pocket on the front of the case to store my ear buds, bank/credit cards, etc. The flap keeps the device in place and extends to the outside of the pocket to protect it's contents as well. The flap stays put with a Velcro closure. I put a Brass D-Ring/Swivel Hook onto the side so that we can clip it on to, well...just about anything. I love this case. My device is protected and every time I take it out of the case the Lambskin fleece polishes it. Will also fit iPod Touch, Blackberry and Palm devices.

iPhone cases are now available to purchase online in my Etsy shop, Sharondipity Designs

More Crochet Spa, Dish Cloths

After much trial and error I finally came up with a design for a cloth that I love. These are great for either the kitchen or bath. The more you wash them, the softer they get. Completely washable and reusable. They are crocheted with 100% cotton yarn and have a decorative scalloped edge for that finishing touch and are super absorbent.

Scarf Spree

I went on a bit of a scarf knitting spree last year that started with scarves for our trip to Ireland and ended with scarves for Christmas...you can never have enough warm, woolly scarves.

This is a bottle bag I made to wrap a bottle of wine in to give as a gift. It is 100% cotton ecru with embroidered grapevine & leaf design and has a drawstring ribbon to open and close. It fits a standard 750 ml bottle of wine and is completely washable. It is also reusable so is very environmentally friendly which is good for the planet. ;-)

Fisherman Aran Afghan

This is the first Aran Afghan that I made before beginning the process of designing. It has one large center panel and 2 smaller ones on each side. I’ve used a cable needle before but on a very limited basis. It was very slow going so I started wondering if it could be done without a needle. I did some research and found out that lots of people do cables without needles so I checked out some video’s and found them to be very scary, so I kept plugging along with the needle. By the time I got to the fifth panel I decided to take the plunge, took a big deep breath and VOILA….no problem. Not nearly as scary as it looks. Once I got going I actually found it easier and faster to do the cables without a needle. This was a gift for my step son and his new bride.

This pattern was designed by Rita Weiss and can be found in The Ultimate Book of Knit Afghans
